Your Circle Matters

Here is a fun picture of my friends and I at the beach back in 2018.

Hello and welcome back to my blog! I have a question that I want for you to think about. Did you know that who you surround yourself with plays a big part in who you are as a person? The friendships that we have hold a strong influence in the way we think about the world and how we act. There is a saying that goes “Birds of a feather flock together”, which my mother has quoted to me for years! Throughout my life I have wondered if this belief is actually true. In the past couple years things in life happened that made me realize that part of that belief is true.

What does true friendship mean to you?

I believe that the environment that you are in affects how you feel about yourself. The people you choose to surround yourself with matter so much to your overall well-being. Now you may be wondering to yourself, what does this have to do with self-love? Well, self-love is recognizing the people and things that you need and do not need in your life. If you are surrounding yourself with negative people who discourage you, you are not going to feel as confident within yourself. Words are a powerful thing and if you are continually being told things that bring you down instead of lifting you up, then you may need to reevaluate your circle of friends.

Friendship is a beautiful thing, but it is always okay to know when someone has exceeded their stay in your life. Identify what is best for you and what people are best for you; this is how you love yourself first. It is never easy to stand up for yourself, and consider yourself first sometimes, but it is important that you do. I hope that you have learned something from this blog post! Continue to identify what people in your life bring you happiness! These are great words of encouragement for you, the person reading this.

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my blog!

Talk to you later!
